The IAAF Council is meeting for the third time in its history in Dakar, Senegal, with IAAF President Lamine Diack taking the opportunity to say farewell to his fellow Council Members in his home city on Monday (14).

Getu Feleke overcame stomach problems in the final stages of the 31st edition of the Vienna City Marathon, an IAAF Gold Label Road Race, to win in a course record time of 2:05:41 on Sunday (13).

Local runners Pak Chol and Kim Hye Gyong took the honours at the Mangyongdae Prize International Marathon, an IAAF Bronze Label Road Race, winning in the DPR Korea capital Pyongyang in 2:12:26 and 2:27:05 respectively on Sunday (13).

There were home wins at the 2014 Lodz Marathon Dbam o Zdrowie, an IAAF Bronze Label Road Race, as Yared Shegumo and Karolina Jarzynska were victorious in 2:10:41 and 2:28:12 respectively in the 10th edition of the Polish race on Sunday (13).

Eliud Kipchoge was an impressive winner of the 2014 ABN AMRO Rotterdam Marathon, an IAAF Gold Label Road Race, in 2:05:00 but the windy conditions and poor pacemaking didn t bring him the personal best he was looking for on Sunday (13).
