Pole vault world record holder Renaud Lavillenie has mixed memories of his last visit to the Olympic Stadium in Rome, back in 2013.

European 10,000m champion Jo Pavey will contest her first half marathon in three years when she competes at the Bank of Scotland Great Scottish Run, an IAAF Gold Label Road Race, on 4 October.

With less than three months to go until the IAAF World Championships, Beijing 2015, the host city welcomed thousands of children and their families to a promotional event in the Chinese capital on Sunday (31).

The IAAF is saddened to learn of the death of 1964 Olympic 200m champion Henry Carr, who died on Saturday (30) after suffering from cancer. He was 72 years old.

Following their fantastic feats already in this season s IAAF Diamond League, all eyes will be on Renaud Lavillenie and Pedro Pablo Pichardo at the Golden Gala Pietro Mennea meeting in Rome on Thursday (4).

The IAAF is deeply saddened to learn of the death of the Belgian journalist Ronny Ceuleers after a long illness on Sunday (31).
